Umage is the result of years of collaboration by to come up with a solution that is simple to use, yet extremely flexible in its configuration. In Umage the aim is to make as much of the utility management process transparent. By automating the process from reading the meter to delivering the invoice to the tenant the system removes costs, reduces queries and speeds up the whole process, putting everyone in control of their part of the process.
Utility Mage (Umage) uses a combination of highly scalable applications run in The Cloud and an Android app to deliver a seamless Software as a Service (Saas) experience for every type of user.
For the curious, Umage is built with Common Lisp. Much of the system’s code is generated by macro’s, so the system writes the system, if you can get your head around that. The database used is an in house creation, that can be describe as an “In Memory Persistent Hierarchical Database”. Data is automatically segregated based on licenses issued increasing scalability and security at the same time.
